In an exemplary display of humanity, many home chefs across the country are delivering healthy and nutritious meals for COVID patients and their families in need. In this article, we list down a few verified home chefs in Bengaluru who are doing their bit in times of crises.

Mrs Neetu Pankaj

Apart from delivering food to 60 households in Bengaluru, Mrs Neetu Pankaj also coordinates with people to help them find hospitals, beds, oxygen cylinders, and anything else they might require. Her day begins at 3:30 am, and she sends all three meals of the day by 09:00 am. Her husband and two girls, 13 and six, respectively, help her in the act.

Mission Chai

Mission Chai is a group in Bengaluru put together by Rakesh Nayyar, an Assistant Engineer with ISRO, and his wife, Seema Nayyar. The group consists of several home chefs in Bengaluru who cater to patients near their respective locations. Last year, during a similar situation, the group distributed thousands of food packets in hospitals and to people in need. The Nayyar’s kitchen runs from 7 am to 7 pm, and they manage to provide 200 meals daily in the Old Airport-Indiranagar region with some help from friends and family.

Recipe of Hope

Miti Desai and Piyush Jain deliver vegetarian meals to COVID patients and their families from their home kitchen in Bengaluru’s Cooke Town area. They offer these meals free of cost, and the recipients are required to pay only delivery charges. Currently, they are financing the initiative through personal funds. However, they plan on starting a crowdfunding drive if the need occurs.

Cheran Kumer

Cheran Kumer is offering homecooked meals to COVID patients and their caregivers in Bengaluru. His meals cost as low as INR 30, and he even provides free meals to those in dire need. Many have joined hands with Kumer to strengthen his initiative.
