In an attempt to ease strain on the healthcare system, Gurugram-headquartered OYO has launched OYO Care on its mobile platform, states an official release. With this, users can book quarantine facilities for COVID-19 patients and individuals who require isolation at any of the chain’s existing accommodations.

This service is also extended to healthcare professionals and frontline workers, and for post-travel isolations. Moreover, the chain is also gearing towards extending this service to employees of local government bodies as well.

To facilitate stays, OYO Care has teamed up with more than 30 hospitals, several government authorities, and private sector companies. Rohit Kapoor, CEO, OYO INSEA says, “OYO’s presence across India enables us to support the healthcare system that has been stretched for space during such times. We are dedicating select properties across cities as quarantine and isolation facilities for COVID-19 positive patients.” While extending gratitude to partners, Kapoor further says that while this is a small effort in the direction, it’s the time to “cater to the growing needs of healthcare and the frontline workforce during these distressing times.”

Several precautionary measures have also been introduced such as Sanitised Stays; Sanitised Before Your Eyes; contactless check-ins; app and WhatsApp-based assistance with its chatbot, Yo! Chat.

Notably, OYO introduced similar efforts during the first wave of COVID-19 last year. Then, too, several hospitals, ministries and government authorities extended support to help set up quarantine facilities for stranded tourists, frontliners, members of the medical community and asymptomatic patients.
