With Indians rushing to the government portal to find and book COVID-19 vaccination slots, the high demand for the vaccine does not always let them block their preferred time slots. But the newly launched tool by Ixigo, Vaccine Slot Finder, may provide some relief as it displays real-time slot availability from CoWIN website, hence raising the chances of getting a vaccination appointment.
You can access this tool in the app’s ‘What’s New’ section and then head to the ‘Find vaccine slots’ option. Then, you can select your area pin code or district, along with age group and dose required (that is, first or second). You can also filter the search results by selecting the vaccine type (Covishield or COVAXIN), and whether you wish for a free or paid vaccination centre. In doing so, if there is a free slot available, you will be redirected to CoWIN website to book the appointment. In case there is an unavailability of slots, the app has an option that can notify you when slots become available in the desired area.
“With this initiative, we want to support the government’s efforts in accelerating mass vaccinations by providing our users seamless access to vaccine slots. Timely vaccinations will help ease anxiety and encourage safe and free movement of people going forward,” said Rajnish Kumar, CTO & Director of Ixigo, to Phocus Wire.
OYO Rooms has also started displaying vaccination status of its staff of partner hotels on its app. “Vaccination is the most important intervention against COVID-19. We are launching an industry-first feature, VaccinAid, to show self-reported vaccination status of hotel staff across OYOs,” said Ritesh Agarwal, founder of OYO Rooms, in a tweet.
