During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Afghanis made areas like Lajpat Nagar and Bhogal in Delhi their new home. An all-time favourite of non-vegetarians in Delhi, Afghan Darbar has become synonymous with Afghani cuisine. The restaurant is in Central Lajpat Nagar and serves great food at affordable prices. Try their Mutton Chopan kebabs, Mantu, and Qorma Kofta for starters. For the main course, you can savour their Qabuli Uzbeki, which is usually served with kidney beans and Afghani naan. Their Chicken Qorma is amazing too. If you love rice in your meals, go for their traditional Kabuli Pulav, which comes sprinkled with raisins.

Kabul Delhi

Kabul Delhi is the go-to place for every meat lover in Delhi. At pocket-friendly prices, their biryani is really good. So are their Mutton Boti, Mutton Pulao and Gosht Kebabs. Try their Kofta Curry, which is made using eggplant. They serve complimentary Afghan naan and rajma with every order. Tea lovers would be pleasantly surprised on being served a free cup of tea after their meal. You can’t get a better deal. The ambience is perfect to enjoy a nice family outing. Must-try dishes here include Sheer Yakh, Afghani Pulao, Lamb Ribs and Skewers. Fish lovers must try their flavourful Fried Fish. The staff is extremely polite and friendly. The ambience is beautiful and promises a classy dine-out experience.

Perhaps the most elegant Afghani restaurant in the city, Chopaan Kebab is known for its unmatched hospitality and amazing service. The way they present their dishes is remarkable. When here, take your taste buds on a joyride as you try their best dishes like Qorma-E-Gosht, Jigar Kebabs, and Zereshk Pulav Ba Morgh, to name a few. Vegetarians would love their Bulani Kachalu and Ashak. They also serve Uzbeki delicacies like Chuchuara Mutton, Lakmaan and Kazan Kebab. For a wholesome meal, order their Afghani non-veg platter, which features Chicken Tikka, Chicken Chopaan, Mutton Chopaan, Mutton Tikka, and Solato.

End your meal with a serving of delicious Firni. They also serve amazing Baqlava, a light golden layered filo pastry filled with nuts.
