Hangout Rooftop Bar and Restaurant

If you are in the mood to party, look no further than Hangout. With a great rooftop ambience, flavourful food, quality liquor, and groovy music, Hangout is perhaps Kasauli’s best bar and restaurant. They have techno nights on Thursdays and open mics on Sundays. Located on the rooftop of Hotel Kasauli Regency, Hangout promises a nice dining experience with superlative food and stunning views. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available.

Located in the army area, Kasauli Club is among India’s most prestigious social clubs. The present building of the club was constructed in 1880 as The Kasauli Reading and Assembly Rooms. It’s known as Kasauli Club since 1898. The Victorian building houses tennis courts, bridge rooms, a squash court, a billiards room, and an outdoor garden. Lodging facilities are included too. The bar at the club is called The Bunker and serves quality branded liquor. The Bulge- the restaurant at the Kasauli Club was started to commemorate the battle of Shakargarh Bulge and offers a lively riverside ambience and sumptuous food.

Cafe Mantra

Located at a kissing distance from the Christ Church, right next to the iconic Narinder Sweets, Cafe Mantra is one of those places where you can spend hours with your friends drinking coffee, sharing pizza, and listening to some good music. Their paranthas, burgers, and shakes are highly recommended. So are their garlic noodles, honey chilli potatoes, and momos. The attractive modern decor of the cafe makes it a nice spot to enjoy breakfast on a pleasant Sunday morning. Don’t miss their cold coffee.

This small eatery towards the lower end of the Heritage Market serves good Chinese, Tibetan, and Continental offerings.  Their pizzas and sandwiches are also worth trying. Try their Mexican omelette and Irish coffee for breakfast. Their refreshing lemon coriander soup, Hakka noodles, and chicken salt and pepper come highly recommended too. The walls of this little cafe are adorned with scribblings from customers, who have only written nice things about their food, ambience, and music.

If pizza is what you can’t live without, head to this recently-opened artisan pizzeria. They are the first in Kasauli to serve wood-fired pizzas. Their hand-tossed and stretched artisan pizzas are prepared by their own dough, which they ferment for 24 hours to 72 hours using Italian flour. They use Italian Pelati tomatoes, fresh and dried basil, and extra virgin olive oil. Try their Dochi Farmhouse Feta, which features classic Margherita toppings, feta, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, jalapenos, and red paprika. They also dish out nice calzones and waffles.

This Instagrammable cafe must be visited for good vibes, friendly hosts, and wholesome meals. The vintage-styled Cafe Shubhmita is a favourite among backpackers and locals from Chandigarh, who come here to unwind. From cheezy pizzas and pasta to shakes and mocktails, their food is amazing. The cafe offers both inside and outside seating. We’d recommend soaking in the sun and playing with their pet dogs while you wait for your coffee and appreciate the wall art.

This popular cafe serves all-day breakfast toasts, snacks, wraps, salads, pastas, paranthas, and more. Located on the Khetarpal Marg, the cafe offers nice views from its verandah. They mainly offer Indian and Italian cuisine. Their pizzas, momos, and hot chocolate are liked by all. You may also try their tasty pancakes and pies. Being located near the famous Sanawar Lawrence School, the cafe is filled with youngsters and offers a memorable dining experience.

One of the most pretty cafes around Kasauli, Freq Cafe can be visited on your way back to Delhi. Located in Dharampur, the cafe is a favourite among bikers and regular travellers on the Delhi-Shimla route. The cafe offers excellent views, good service, and tasty food. Their pizzas and crusty and loaded with veggies dipped in a tangy and flavourful sauce. You must also try their lemonade and cheesy fries. They serve delicious coffee, waffles, and shakes too.

Every small town has that one sweet shop that locals swear by. For Kasauli, it’s Narinder Sweet House. They are famous for their bun samosas, the most popular street food item in Kasauli. Enjoying a fresh bun samosa with a cup of tea at this vintage sweet shop is a quintessential Kasauli experience that no foodie can afford to miss. Their jalebis and gulab jamuns are divine. They also serve delicious coffee. Do try their lip-smacking samosas, chaat, and chole bhature. They are also known for their ginger tea.
