Shimla offers some of the most charming experiences to be had in the hills. From exploring its colonial architectural wealth to drinking in the stunning views of the Himalayas, Shimla is every bit charming. Being a popular hill station, Shimla is home to some good cafes too. 8 Best cafes in Shimla

Located right opposite the iconic Town Hall, this cosy little cafe is great for those who like bright airy spaces washed with sunshine. Featuring big beautiful windows and soothing music, the cafe serves Continental, Middle Eastern, and Italian cuisine. Popular dishes include Crepes, Carrot Cake, White Sauce Pasta, Margarita Pizza, and Falafel Hummus. Don’t miss their Waffle with Nutella and Maple Syrup.

If you’d love to enjoy a delicious meal with splendid views of the Shimla hills, Cafe SoI Lounge at Hotel Combermere on The Mall is where you should go. It’s a spacious, atmospheric multicuisine cafe in the centre of town, overlooking the hills. They serve lip-smacking Mexican and Italian. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating options. Ask for their Strawberry Cheesecake, Fish, Nachos, and Pasta.

A graffitied yellow Ambassador car welcomes you to this gorgeous cafe accented with quirky and fun decor. They are known for their superlative European cuisine. What sets them apart from the other cafes in Shimla is their impressive range of Fresh Craft beers. Try their burgers, pasta, and shakes. Bestselling dishes include Apple Crumble, Chicken Tikka, and thin-crust pizzas. The night view of Shimla from the terrace here should not be missed.

This quaint little multi-cuisine cafe will win your heart with its absolutely yum food. Featuring red walls and elegant wooden furnishings, the cafe serves North Indian, Chinese, and Fast Food along with a nice array of desserts and beverages. Their pizzas and sandwiches are the best though. Those with sweet tooth must not miss their amazing pastries. And, they do good Jain pizzas too, just FYI.

One of the most beautiful cafes in Shimla, Cafe Under Tree is located near the iconic Jakhu Temple. Boasting wooden interiors, the cafe offers lovely views of the sylvan surroundings. It’s one of those places where you can spend hours sipping over hot cups of coffee as you turn the pages of a good read. The cafe is located at the highest point of Shimla and remains extremely popular among tourists. Do try their pastas and humus-pita.

This cute, chic, cosy, and absolutely Instagram-worthy cafe delights honey lovers with its impressive menu. The cafe overlooks the entire Shimla Valley. Try their popular Flavoured Honey Coffee, which comes sprinkled with cinnamon. Another must-try dish is their warm and delicious Apple Pie. The cafe makes its own honey, which is served as a side with all beverages and baked snacks. Do order the Honey Hut Special Salad, which features black olives, capsicum, pineapple, paneer, and more.

Located opposite Sanjauli parking, The Corner Cafe offers stunning views of the snow-peaked mountains. Their food is delicious and patrons say that they never fail to impress. The ambiance is perfect for families and large groups. Your desi palate would love their hearty North Indian fare. Try their Paneer Lababdar, Chicken Biryani, Pudina Laccha Parantha, and Rara Gosht.

And last, but definitely not the least on our list is Wood Street Cafe. Located in Lakkar Bazaar, the cafe is run entirely by women. The interiors of the cafe feature wooden furniture and handicrafts that are sold in Lakkar Bazaar. The walls have graffiti that pays tribute to the colonial architecture of Shimla. They serve scrumptious dishes from around the world made with ingredients that are fresh and locally sourced. Try out pancakes, eggs to order, and much more from their all-day breakfast menu.
