Head to the Shang Palace at Shangri-La’s-Eros Hotel in New Delhi for the best of crabs, lobsters, scampi, prawns, scallops and more as the iconic restaurant is serving authentic delicacies from the sea at the ultimate seafood pop-up, called ‘Crustacean Crush’ this week. There’s no doubt that the adventure diners in the capital swear by the name of Shang Palace. With authentic Cantonese, Sichuan, and Yunnan cuisines on offer, this 47-yar-old legacy located on the ground floor of the Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel just never seizes to surprise. Wishing to continue the same, the new Executive Chef Sahil Arora along with the resident Chinese chefs has decided to run a pop-up fare called ‘Crustacean Crush’ to surprise its guests with the authentic delicacies coming fresh from the sea. Scheduled to run from November 9 to 16 this year, this pop-up of all the crustacean signatures on the menu is sure to bowl you over.
To start with, there’s Spicy Seafood Broth that comes with fresh lobster, pepper, aromatic herbs, and spice. This is everything that a bowl of soup should be like—comforting, subtle, and delicious. Post the bowl of goodness, relish Scallop Hargao with Chives. This plate of traditional Cantonese hargao dough wrap dumplings comes with a filling of soft scallops tossed in a mix of mild spices and chives. Enjoy them along with the tender Lobster Shoumai with beluga caviar on top.
Then, there’s Scampi Chilli Butter Garlic Sauce wherein jumbo scampi are cooked with fresh chilli, butter, and some garlic, and trust me when I say, you wouldn’t be able to have enough of this! The buttery-garlic-y flavour compliments the super-soft scampi so well that you probably would want to tag it with the title of ‘star’ of the menu already.
But hold on a little longer for there’s more to come. Start your mains with the Spiny Lobster with Garlic Chilli Sauce that satiates all your cravings for some spicy Chinese. Then, move on to the Yunnan Style Pepper Crab—now expect from this one nothing less than the sweetest giant mud crabs that you’ve ever tasted! The spice of the sauce with freshly ground black pepper, garlic and shallots blends quite well with the sweetness of the crab meat and hence, provides the classic dish with just the right balance. This is served with a choice of steam buns, baked buns, or steam rice.
The entire menu is further filled with dishes like Giant Crab Meat Dumpling Soup, Schezwan Chilli Crab, Scallops with Snow peas, and more. Putting all the crustacean signatures of the Shang Palace together, the exciting pop-up is here to make people fall in love with the goodness of seafood all over again.
