Vada Pav, the humble street snack from Maharashtra, has been on restaurant menus worldwide for some time now, and Dubai recently gave the humble dish a golden makeover (literally!), when a Dubai-based restaurant introduced the 22k gold Vada Pav. Priced at AED 99 (roughly INR 1,970), this is one of the craziest food offerings besides the Gold Biryani and Gold Ice Cream, reports News18.

The O’Gold Vada Pao consists of a tender bun loaded with a vada, which is stuffed with truffle butter and cheese. Topped with a homemade mayonnaise dip, the snack is wrapped in premium quality French-imported 22k gold leaves, and comes with a side of sweet potato fries and mint lemonade, reports Khaleej Times. This dish is being served at the Dubai-based restaurant O’Pao in Karama and Al Quoz.
Twitter user Masarat Daud posted a now-viral video of the Vada Pav, writing, “#Gold_Vada_Paav This is what’s wrong with the world: too many rebels without a cause.”

This uber-luxurious pav can be savoured by dine-in customers only, reports The Indian Express. Dubai is also known for serving a Gold Biryani, currently the most expensive biryani in the world, priced at AED 1,000 (roughly INR 19,890), which comes topped with 23k gold leaves.
