If You Are A Sucker For Eclectic Ambience & Great Food, Head To Foxtrot In Gurugram

The recently launched coffee and cocktail bar– Foxtrot in Gurugram — had us at hello! Read on to know why. By Priyanka Chakrabarti

It’s a busy Wednesday afternoon at work, and I decide to grab a quick lunch at Foxtrot in Gurugram with a colleague. As I walk into the premise of this new baby in DLF Cyber Hub, I sense an eccentric blend of cosy and dramatic vibe – think of unperturbed booths for quiet dinners on one side, and a dance floor with electric magenta light work on the other; not to forget the outlandish wall of art that leads me to my table for two.

This place seems like a perfect spot to hang out with colleagues post-work hours, have birthday parties (read: they recently had Dualist Inquiry play live on a Saturday night!), or just have a nice dinner with family. The décor is quirky, super lit, yet there is something comfortably warm about this place that is pulling me closer.

Without wasting much time, I flip through the menu and place the order. Pav bhaji (foxy style), kathal tacos, burning chilli fries, Tibetan chicken momo lunch tray and of course, a serving of Tiramisu for dessert. For drinks, we order the virgin pina colada and some watermelon and bubbles. The pav bhaji was finger-licking good! Tiny pav sliders coupled with a big bowl of soulful veggies, blended in a smooth paste with oodles of butter, and garnished with a generous serving of lemon and raw onions: this truly makes to the bucket list! The kathal tacos are uncommon but it grows on you after a couple of bites. Pretty innovative combination, I must say. However, the Tibetan chicken momo lunch tray is what you should order if you are craving some good-old noodles, fried rice and chicken in spicy gravy!

Foxtrot has very interesting food choices listed on their menu – from Indian to continental – they will spoil you silly. Lastly, if you like kulchas, try their pillowy-soft stuffed paneer(cottage cheese) kulchas. Delectable is an understatement to define these babies.

Finally, this restaurant has a pretty impressive range of cocktails and wines for you to indulge in. Try the Posh Gin and Tonic (gin, tonic water, cucumber slices, rosemary, mint, basil, juniper berries, peppercorns, lemon), Brixton Smash (vodka, elderflower syrup, white grapes, basil, thyme, mint leaves, citrus juice), and Forest Fog (whisky, smoked with hickory wood, bitters and citrus juice).

All in all, we have already zeroed down upon our weekend plans. We suggest you make your reservations soon because they are pretty occupied with food lovers here!
