World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, often considered the Oscars of the culinary industry, is back after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The list honours some of the most distinguished and exquisite restaurants across the globe which offer a world-class dining experience, reports Republic World.

Noma in Copenhagen has bagged the top spot this year. The three-Michelin star restaurant opened in 2003 and first bagged the top spot on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list back in 2010, reports WION. Since then, the restaurant was named the world’s best in 2011, 2012 and 2014, before it shut shop in 2016. Then, Noma reopened in 2018 in a new location and has bagged the top spot on the coveted list yet again.

According to CNN, a new rule introduced in 2019 rendered previous winners of the top spot ineligible for the list, but Noma was crowned as it has shut shop and then reopened in a new location. Further, the world’s best restaurants that have featured on the list multiple times are now part of a separate “Best Of The Best” list, of which Noma is the newest entrant.
