Alcohol goes well in all seasons and forms, whether it be a mulled wine to warm us in the winters, in a delectable dessert such as tiramisu, or as a gin and tonic to unwind after a long day at work. And if you love your cocktails, these boozy popsicles are the perfect ways for you to refresh yourself this summer! By Anushka Goel
Delectable ice lollies and those Pepsi cola pops we used to indulge in after school are probably some of the fondest childhood memories all of us have. The icy treats were a treat to combat the heat as we’d walk or take the bus home, and the sickly-sweet aftertaste of the pops would stay with us until we reached home.
As adults we often find ourselves moving away from these street treats, given concerns over hygiene and quality. What’s more, with most adults being more diet-conscious than ever, the number of treats we allow ourselves have limited themselves and often end up as indulgences over the weekend.
If you’re someone who is looking for ways to indulge in your favourite mixes that helps keep cool in the summer, or if you’re looking for a recipe that will make your next party a hit, may we suggest adding some boozy popsicles to the mix?
These lollies are flavourful and fun and are often stronger than a regular cocktail (given their high concentration of base ingredients to retain the flavour once frozen) and make for a great way to start a party (or a simple at-home chill session). However, keep in mind that the amount of alcohol to other liquids should be 1:5 to allow the popsicles to freeze (since alcohol itself does not freeze).
