You must be living under a rock if you haven’t heard of Michelin-star chef Massimo Bottura. The world-renowned chef has just opened his first ever restaurant in the United States and in Rodeo Drive, no less! We have got all the details. By Amitha Ameen
On February 17, only the second of its kind, the Gucci Osteria opened its doors to the high and mighty through an exclusive invite-only launch event. The flagship boutique is a result of the extremely successful original collaboration between Gucci and Chef Bottura with the initial outlet in Florence.
The LA outlet has already began to serve inspiration for Michelin-quality food and swanky interiors. Having already attracted A-list celebs including Dakota Johnson and Gwyneth Paltrow, the 50-seat intimate rooftop restaurant, situated above the posh Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive Gucci boutique is well on it’s way to attaining cult status in the States as well.
Including a beautiful patio that overlooks the tree-lined Rodeo Drive, the interiors are styled in true Gucci style. Gucci-patterned wallpapers, breezy and currently trending wicker chairs and elegant red marble table tops and vintage-looking place settings inspired by the Florence Osteria are what welcome guests into the hotshot restaurant.
Massimo Bottura and Gucci’s CEO Bizzari have been friends for more than 45 years from when they were just 13, and grew up together in Modena, Italy.
Now, if reports are to be believed, plans for a third outlet are already in motion to be opened in Japan’s capital, Tokyo’s chic Ginza district.
