Among all the street food, we can agree the panipuri is the undisputed king of chaats and universally loved by many. With the Coronavirus outbreak, street shops and our favourite snack bars had to close down, in order to curb the virus. People too have begun to get wary about stepping and consuming food from restaurants. While we were craving our favourite snack and wondering when will we be able to once again devour a plate of this goodness, we came across an ingenious panipuri vending machine doing the rounds on the internet.
A video that has been trending on social media shows a panipuri vending machine dispensing panipuri similar to money in an ATM. With ‘no contact’ and social distancing checked off the list, this machine feels like a godsend for those of us who love a daily fix of our favourite snack.

In the video which is said to have originated from Gujarat (As reported on india.com), a man can be seen inserting an INR 20 rupee note and crips puris can be seen coming out on a tiny conveyor belt, like clockwork. The man in the video can be heard saying that it took him close to six months to make the machine and assured viewers that it follows all the necessary precautions.
Of course, this ingenious device immediately found a place in the heart of many Indians who took to social media to share their amazement and interest. Many raised questions about when they can expect a machine like this near their areas. While we don’t know when this panipuri ATM will be available near us, one thing that has remained evident is the love that Indians have for their favourite snack!
