Actor Aamir Khan recently grabbed headlines for a few photos that surfaced online and the internet heavily criticised him for it. Khan who is currently shooting in Turkey for his upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha, took some time off his schedule to meet the First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan.
The first lady shared her experience of meeting with the superstar on her official twitter account along with a few photos. “I had the great pleasure of meeting Aamir Khan, the world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker, and director, in Istanbul. I was happy to learn that Aamir decided to wrap up the shooting of his latest movie Laal Singh Chaddha in different parts of Turkey. I look forward to it,” read one of her tweets.
The two personalities discussed the various social responsibility projects that the 55-year-old actor is associated with. While the meeting between the two went smoothly, the pictures shared by Emine Erdogan did not sit well with netizens. The viral photos received some flak from one section of Twitter users who said that the actor should not have met with the first lady, considering the issues of conflict between the two countries. And now, there is a call to ban the actor’s film as well.
Khan flew to the Middle Eastern country last week to shoot his upcoming movie, which is a remake of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump and also features newly pregnant actor Kareena Kapoor Khan.
