The government may further ease the ongoing restrictions in Lockdown 4.0. And since selected trains are already on the move, a go-ahead on air travel seems very likely, moving forward. In the age of digital connectivity, the Government of India launched the Aarogya Setu app to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak. Soon after, Indian Railways made it mandatory to install the application for passengers willing to opt for a train journey.
Recently, reports hint at the fact that the government may make the app installation mandatory for people willing to board a flight. Furthermore, the application might also turn into a key permit point for all travels across the country.

Apart from this, the government is also ideating ways to relaunch interstate travel, and the application might play a key role in that as well. It might be used for self-certification to get an e-pass. More details, on the same, are awaited. Those who try to declare false information on the application will face consequences for the same and might land up in jail.
Trying to address the public’s concerns, Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, in his recent interview to Aaj Tak, said that the servers store data only for 30 and 60 days for safe and high-risk users, respectively.
