Etihad Airways has started operating special flights to Abu Dhabi from six Indian cities between July 12 to July 26, provided you have the required Government approvals. By Tanvi Jain

As Indian authorities have partially uplifted restrictions on international flights to allow outbound travel from July 12 to July 26, Etihad Airways has decided to resume special flights to Abu Dhabi from six Indian cities namely, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. 

“India, we’re coming back! We’ll be operating a series of special passenger flights for travellers who need to fly between Abu Dhabi and six major Indian cities between 12 and 26 July. For further details, visit https://bit.ly/2ZhEnkA,” it said in a tweet.

However, it’s not for everyone as only eligible passengers are allowed to fly which include, UAE nationals and residents, and people with relevant UAE entry approvals from India. Moreover, all the passengers are required to have ICA approval from the government of Abu Dhabi before they travel without which they won’t be allowed to check-in. 

As per the current schedule which is subject to change in the future – from Mumbai, there is a daily flightsix weekly flights from Delhi, five each from Chennai and, Bengaluru, two from Kochi and one from Hyderabad. 

You can book the tickets online on etihad.com, or by calling the Etihad Airways Contact Centre on 1800 1233901 (India) and +971 600 555 666 (UAE). There is also a mobile app available or the dame, or you can go for a local or online travel agency as well. 

Furthermore, Etihad Airways has been following UAE and international government, regulatory and health authority directives. The airline has implemented an extensive sanitisation and customer safety programme and is practising the highest standards of hygiene at every stage of a passenger’s journey. This includes specially trained Wellness Ambassadors to provide essential travel and health-related information and care on the ground and on-board.
