Accor partners with insurance firm AXA to provide medical assistance to future guests, as a part of its global recovery plan for post COVID-19 rebound travel. By Tanvi Jain
The Accor Group in partnership with AXA — a leading insurance firm — has announced that it will provide medical support to guests across its 5,000 hotels worldwide, starting July 2020. The guests will be able to avail the highest level of care with expert medical solutions of AXA Partners — AXA’s international entity specialised in assistance services, travel insurance and credit protection. They will also be given free access to AXA’s medical teleconsultations and extensive medical networks with tens of thousands of vetted medical professionals.
“Adding to our commitment, we are partnering up with @AXA, a leader in global insurance and assistance to provide guests with medical support across all of our hotels worldwide,” the Accor Group tweeted.
This initiative is yet another addition to the Accor Group’s overall global recovery plan for post COVID-19 rebound, which also includes the enhanced health and prevention protocols that the hospitality group has put in place, through its ALLSAFE Cleanliness label, in anticipation of the progressive reopening of its hotels across different regions.
“#SebastienBazin announces our hygiene & sanitary norms go even further with the launch of our ALLSAFE Cleanliness & Prevention label. By implementing the most stringent cleaning standards & operational protocols in #hospitality, we make sure you are safe,” it mentioned in another tweet.
“This distinctive partnership with AXA which we have been working on for several months makes even more sense in today’s context. In an increasingly complex environment, our 3,00,000 team members on the ground will be able to assist our guests and ensure their safety during their stays, turning our hotels into shelters. This initiative combined with our ALLSAFE enhanced hygiene protocols, will be key to rediscover the love of travel in the 5,000 Accor properties around the world,” said Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor.
“Partnering with Accor is a unique opportunity to enlarge people’s access to our healthcare expertise and solutions. As we are facing an unprecedented health crisis with COVID-19, this ambition has never been more relevant,” said AXA CEO, Thomas Buberl.
Accor Group has been from time to time taking measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of them include distributing meals to the needy, offering special home delivery and takeaway services to its customers, offering rooms and beds to medical frontliners, and quarantine facilities to guests.
