A statement from the company says that it has chosen local restaurants and cloud kitchens with the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation to ensure the safety of customers amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

As per reports, the service will be expanded to other cities in the coming weeks with the company already testing pilot projects in Hyderabad and Mumbai. The initial launch of the food delivery business was scheduled for last year around Diwali, however, it was postponed to December and later to early 2020 due to operational hazards.

A spokesperson from the company has also said that the choice to launch the service even as the country faces a healthcare and economic crisis was deliberate as it wants people to stay in and order rather than go out to eat. Outlets that it has currently partnered within Bengaluru include luxury hotel chains like Radisson and Marriott as well as affordable chain restaurants like Mad Over Donuts and Chai Point.

The past two months have been an extraordinarily difficult time for most people and businesses including e-commerce companies, which were allowed to sell only essentials during the nationwide lockdown since March 25. It has now resumed full operations in all zones except containment areas.

Emerging from the crisis slowly and steadily, all these firms are venturing into new spaces and trying to be creative. In the meantime, people from Bengaluru and soon other parts of the country can rejoice as they receive one more option of having food safely and securely delivered to their doorstep.
