The Indian Railways has come up with an interesting way of promoting the Fit India initiative. It has installed a Fit India Squat Kiosk at the Anand Vihar railway station. You can squat in front of the machine to get a free platform ticket. Interestingly, this is not the only noteworthy move by the railways. By Kumar Shree
In a rather unique scheme, the Indian Railways has installed a Fit India Squat Kiosk at the Anand Vihar railway station. All you need to do is perform 30 squats in front of the machine and that’s it, you can have your free platform ticket. Hang on, it’s not as easy as it sounds, though. You’ll need to do these 30 squats in two minutes. Now that’s what make it interesting, isn’t it!

The railways has also setup Dawa Dost, a generic medicine store at the station. As per a statement issued by the railways, “Dawa Dost aims to make it easier for Indians to take care of their health and help them make substantial savings on their health bills by providing high-quality, affordable medicines. Dawa Dost supports the Indian government’s stance on the use of generic medicines. The firm currently has 10 stores in Rajasthan and Delhi and plans to increase to 100 stores in a year and to 1,000 in the next four years.”
Many other health-related amenities are also installed at the railway station. These include a pulse health machine kiosk and a Robocura massage chair. The pulse health machine kiosk measures various health and wellness parameters like body composition analysis and blood pressure, etc. The Robocura massage chair, on the other hand, is the most advanced body massage chair with 3D massage rollers.
While facilities are installed at the Anand Vihar railway station for now, these will see expansion to different parts of the country as well.
