If you’ve been yearning to go on a vacation in Indonesia’s tropical holiday island of Bali, it will be possible from October onwards. The country plans to reopen to tourists after successfully controlling the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus. By Manya Saini
Bali has long been a beloved tourist destination for a wide array of travellers. Surfers, sunbathers, and those looking to relax in a therapeutic spa — the island offers an experience for everyone. The government of Indonesia had closed its borders due to the outbreak of the pandemic in a bid to contain the spread, but as the number of infections has come under control, the government has unveiled its plan to welcome travellers back.

The Tourism Ministry is looking to open Bali for international tourists provided the number of new cases remains low. So far, the island has reported 363 confirmed infections while 267 of them have recovered and have been discharged. The vacation hotspot has said it will place all necessary security measures in the next three months to open before the winter season.
The island will engage in promotional campaigns to revitalise its tourism landscape between June and October. The ministry has reiterated that tourism cannot be neglected as it remains one of the crucial components of the nation’s economy.

As per reports, an official of the Bali Government, Gusti Agung Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya has said that most cases reported in the island have been imported. The majority of those who tested positive were cruise line employees around the world who have returned due to the pandemic.
