While for lunch the work starts at 5 am and ends by 11 am, for dinner, the preparations resume at 1 pm and end at 6 pm. The menu comprises of rice, bread, sabji, dal, and prasada. The Gurudwara claims that though it has enough stock to feed during the lockdown period, but is trying to procure more ration, and has reportedly fed more than 4.5 lakh people in the past 12 days. Furthermore, the Gurudwara is also well equipped with machines to prepare food in bulk. One of which has the capacity to prepare bread from 1.5 quintals of wheat flour every hour.
Although, the Gurudwara is doing its best to serve as many people as possible, due to the lockdown the number of meals prepared per day has gone down from somewhere between 60,000 and 1,00,000, to 40,000, amid a reduction in kitchen staff in order to maintain social distancing.
