Ancestral trips or DNA trips as they are popularly known is the latest travel trend that takes a person through an insightful journey back to their ancestral homeland and helps them reconnect with their family’s past. Who wouldn’t want to find out where their ancestors lived, what their family’s origin is, and map their family tree to the oldest date that they possibly can… This is all possible through ancestral tourism, which is now slowly picking up pace as COVID-19’s grip loosens around the world.

And it seems like Bhumi had this exact idea in mind, as she recently shared a photo from her ancestral trip to her family’s village in the western state of India. The actor shared a series of images from her village called Pedne in Goa, where she was seen visiting several temples as part of a family pilgrimage that is hundreds of years old.

“Mauli Devi, Bhagwati Devi & Ravlnath Temple all are around 300 to 400 years old. The Pednekar’s, our earliest written record is in the books of the Ravlnath temple from the year 1902. The temples are full of stories, surrounded by medicinal streams of water and tons of energy to heal,” read a part of the caption under the actor’s post.

Like Bhumi we too want to travel to places that would help us understand our history and where we come from better, shedding new and interesting perspectives on how our lives have shaped since our ancestors’ times.
