Food delivery chain Biryani by Kilo (BBK) has recently donated over 40,000 fresh lunch meals prepared at all its operational stores across NCR. The meals were donated to public health institutions, police forces, migrants and NGOs to help the frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.
Commenting on the initiative, Biryani by Kilo co-founder, Vishal Jindal said, “We believe that nobody should ever have to miss a meal during this challenging COVID-19 emergency. We want to make sure we care for and cherish our customers during this time.”
Biryani by Kilo as a regular practice distributes food every Thursday, prepared across all its outlets. It’s currently delivering in Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Pune, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Mohali, Raipur, Dehradun, Kanpur, etc.
BBK has also launched a campaign called ‘BBK Cares’ wherein all the customers can further contribute and support the food delivery chain in providing meals to the needy. biryanibykilo.com/bbk-cares. Along with it, as a part of its ‘Feed the Daily Wager’ project, the chain is providing food to families who used to survive on daily wages but, have now been left unemployed due to the lockdown.
Moreover, Biryani by Kilo has also adopted the contactless delivery method and is accepting digital payments as well. Furthermore, regular sanitisation of delivery bags before every delivery and that of the kitchen every hour is also being undertaken. Not only is it providing tamper-proof seal on every bag but, is also screening the temperature of all its riders and kitchen staff before they go ahead with their daily task.
“At Biryani By Kilo, we take hygiene and safety very seriously. Doing everything to ensure that BBK staff is safe and BBK customers get hygienically prepared high quality Dum Handi Biryanis delivered safely to them. Safety, health & peace to everyone!” the food delivery chain tweeted.
