Tourism is the lifeline of many small and big cities across the world, it sustains small businesses, culture, and art of the cityscape. The impact of the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus and the travel restrictions to contain the spread of the pandemic is being felt heavily in the industry. Amid the grim situation, many tourist hubs have come forward with positive campaigns filled with hopes of a fast revival.
The latest to join in is the initiative from Cape Town Tourism (CTT), which has released a video campaign with the tagline, “We are worth waiting for!” The message is an emotional one, and it strikes longing to visit the country as soon as it is safe to do so. Through the narration, it says, “distance means so little when a city means so much and when the time is right we will still be right here.”
Even as the world grapples with the crisis, Cape Town Tourism is committed to maintaining a long-distance relationship with travellers. It is using social media and its website, Love Cape Town, to remind and let visitors know about all its scenic beauty and authentic experiences.
