While the world continues to remain in a partial standstill, the choice of virtual tours and exhibitions for one to enjoy from the comfort of their homes are endless. The latest and most exciting one to join the virtual club is ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams‘ exhibition. By Amitha Ameen

Champions of the hottest of haute couture, French fashion house Dior, is making its record-breaking exhibit, Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, available online.
The exhibit was originally put together to celebrate the 70th-anniversary celebrations of the fashion house, by commemorating its leading and iconic figures by dedicating a marvellous exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris in 2017. The exhibit was also showcased in London the following year.

Apart from an all-inclusive BTS of the exhibition, Dior is also providing a tour of its rooms and the house’s archive. The documentary, Designer of Dreams, follows curators Florence Müller and Olivier Gabet as they collate iconic photographs, original sketches, and many more treasured artefacts, that contributed to the global standing of the house over the years.

The free one-hour long guided tour has been posted on Dior’s YouTube channel and is sure to excite all those culture buffs (us included!).
So, while we wait out the pandemic there’s no reason why we can’t immerse ourselves in culture by experiencing more than 70 years of trailblazing fashion from the comfort of our homes.
