Let Both Conversations And Cocktails Flow On Your Dreamy Date At Ditas

Fancy spending a nippy winter evening or a warm summer night at a European restaurant that looks straight out of a dream? Let Ditas bedazzle you with its quaint warm-lit interiors, inspired cocktails, and global gourmet offerings served hot, on plates. By Sushmita Srivastav

WHAT WE LOVED

Fairy lights and flower-bearing creepers swathing the al fresco area, upholstery done in the prettiest combination of royal blue and rose gold, Moroccan pattern on the floor, an elegant bar radiating in the soft light of the lamps, and a mirrored ceiling reflecting it all—that’s Ditas for you in the first look. What lies ahead is a fascinating, elaborate European fare dominating the global menu and interesting tipples that make the newest resto-bar in Mehrauli’s posh Ambawatta Complex even more desirable. The main wall proudly displays a neon sign that says ‘I like where this is going’, perhaps to prepare you for the good time that lies ahead.

T+L RECOMMENDS

Gomae Spinach Salad with wantons and a creamy sesame dressing makes for a great start with just the right amount of crispness and freshness. You cannot not love the Roasted Sumac Baby Carrorts! The baby carrots come dressed in a tangy orange aioli and are topped with pomegranate seeds and sun-dried tomatoes, offering a burst of flavours. Fried to a perfect golden, Prawn Sesame Toast is an interesting take on prawn tempuras. Served with cucumber chili sesame dip, the bite-size toasts are crumbly-crunchy on the outside, and have soft prawn fillings.

Ditas

For mains, do try their super creamy Fettuccini Miso Carbonara with bacon crisps, Japanese Miso Vegetable Bowl, and the Hickory Smoked Mushroom Stroganoff served with herbed rice, arugula salad, and sour cream. But the Chipotle Honey Chicken is the one you are most likely to come back for—grilled in a spicy-sweet sauce, the tender chicken is well-complemented by the Caribbean quinoa and the avocado mango salsa that it is dished along with, and is quite filling.

FINAL TAKE

While the amazing gourmet food is reason enough to count Ditas for date nights and family dinners, you’d definitely come back to its dreamy décor and innovative drinks! If you can handle the bitter bite of whiskey, pick Ditas Old Fashioned which has bourbon, white chocolate, activated charcoal, and angostura bitters. Gringo In Tokyo brings gin and jalapenos together in an exotic blend of matcha tea, egg white, and some yuzu-honey mix. Or try something like a Tottem Pole that whips up white and dark rum along with mango, mint, and coconut milk!
