One question that is looming in every person’s mind, especially if one is on the go, is what to do if by chance one happens to come in close contact with a COVID-19 positive person?

Well, panic is sure to strike anyone who unfortunately finds himself/herself in such a  situation. But it’s okay, don’t worry! Calm down and first and foremost, immediately get quarantined for 14 days. Station yourself inside your home, and if you are sharing your apartment, make sure to stay in a separate room and completely avoid contact with your roommates or family members. Don’t allow any guests at your place either.

Moreover, keep a check on your symptoms, for example — in case you are sensing fever, cough, cold, shortness of breathnausea, diarrhoea, body pain, loss of taste or smell, or any other kind of sickness, consult your doctor and ask your family members to self-isolate until the test results are out. Before getting yourself tested for Coronavirus, it’s better to wait for at least a week and then go ahead with it. In case you turn out to be positive, selfisolate and follow the protocols laid out by your doctor. However, if your results are negative or you don’t show any symptoms for 14 daysthen you don’t need to be under self-isolation anymore. Consult your doctor and take the next steps forward accordingly.

Your most important duty as an individual is to inform others so that they get aware and start taking the required precautions. Anxiety, fear, anger, depression, are likely to affect you in such a situation and you sure should first take care of yourself, but as a responsible citizen, it is important to give out the right communication at the right time for everyone’s safety

As the world is gradually unlocking and more and more people are starting to come out on the streets to get back to their old routines, it’s highly recommended that you take all safety precautions to avoid getting infected. Stay home and stay safe as much as possible now, so that you can travel the world later.
