Thanks To The Lockdown, You Can Now See Himachal Pradesh's Dhauladhar Range From Jalandhar

Only a few days ago, we told you how India is breathing cleaner air because of the lockdown. Seems like that’s not the only positive thing that has come out of this lockdown situation. People in Jalandhar can see the mountain ranges in Himachal Pradesh due to reduction in pollution levels. By Kumar Shree

Yes, you read that right! People in Jalandhar have been sharing pictures and videos of the Dhauladhar Mountain range in Himachal Pradesh as visible from their town. Twitter is flooded with such images and videos. Abhinav Chandel, who is a Himachal-based photographer, popularly known as @abhiandnow on Instagram also shared an IGTV video talking about the same. Take a look.

In an earlier article, we had also informed you about how the AQI level has improved for the larger part of India including the Indo-Gangetic plain and Delhi NCR, PM10 and PM2.5 came down by around 35 to 40 per cent in Delhi, and out of the cities located in the Indo-Gangetic plain 17 moved to the ‘Satisfactory’ category and seven to the ‘Good’ category. All of this data is from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

IFS Officer, Susanta Nanda, wrote, “What nature was… And what we had done to it???? This is Dhauladhar mountain range of Himachal, seen after 30 years, from Jalandhar (Punjab) after pollution drops to the lowest level in 30 years. This is approx. 200 km away straight.”

Another user on Twitter wrote, “The mighty Dhauladhars in Himachal Pradesh are now visible from Jalandhar as the air gets cleaner due to lockdown. Never thought this was possible!”

Nature has an unending inventory of tricks up her sleeve. Let’s hope we get to witness more such beautiful surprises.
