Canadian passport holders looking to visit India can rejoice, as the country has restored its e-visa services with immediate effect. Here are the details.
High Commission of India, Ottawa, Canada stated on Tuesday, December 20 that the country has reopened its e-visa services for them. This news comes as a blessing for Canadian passport holders wanting to visit the country for various reasons – be it business, leisure, educational, medical or more, as the process of being able to enter India will now be easier.
India reinstates e-visa facility for Canadian passport holders
India had restored its e-visa facilities for most nations in March 2022, but Canada was among the few that had been left out of this rule. This is not all – e-visas for British passport holders were also restored earlier this month. With this facility restored, reports state that Canadian citizens who qualify for the e-visa should apply for the same. These citizens have also been asked to vacate the normal visa slots at the BLS Centres in Canada, to free up appointments for those who seek normal paper visas, reports add. The same process is also applicable to those holding Laissez-passer travel documents.
