The Pune airport in Lohegaon currently operates on a defence land owned by the Indian Air Force. As reported by Mumbai Live, the Airport Authority of India, in their statement, last year, said, “Keeping in mind, growing traffic from Pune, AAI’s Pune Airport has started working on a Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) including two basements and rising three levels above the ground floor. The step will not only add to airport facilities but will aid travellers’ convenience.”
We had earlier reported that Pune airport is currently operating only during the day time, as the repair work starts from 8 pm to 8 am. To accommodate the repair work, Pune airport has spread out the take-off and landing of 10-night flights throughout the day.

To accommodate the increase in traffic, Pune airport is not just expanding its existing runway but is also constructing a new terminal now.
