German Mentalist Nicolai Friedrich Brightened Up Our Weekday With Magic

World-famous mentalist Nicolai Friedrich entered several homes in India last night and touched many lives with his magic, straight from his studio in Germany. We witnessed a mind-blowing event—Limitless with Nicolai Friedrich—at Oval Room, The Mansion at Hyatt Regency Delhi, and it was mesmerising in every sense. By Kumar Shree

Last night was a memorable one for many as Hyatt Regency Delhi, in association with HSBC Premier and AGP World One, brought the world’s leading mentalist, Nicolai Friedrich, to several Indian homes. More than 200 people joined the enthralling virtual event via video-conferencing platform, Zoom. And, 50 lucky guests marked their presence at Oval Room, The Mansion at Hyatt Regency Delhi, including us.

The evening was an effort to understand and analyse the future of events after the COVID-19 pandemic, we learnt. Upon entering, I noticed a socially-distanced setup with separate beer and wine buckets, and exclusive gourmet Italian meals being dished out from the iconic La Piazza restaurant, each packed in premium boxes and delivered straight to the table.

As it turned out, I was not only one of the guests at the event; I was a very lucky one, too! Friedrich choose me to participate in one of his tricks, and I was on cloud nine! Coincidentally, this trick also happened to be one of the highlights of the evening. Friedrich not only rightly read my mind and guessed the number I was thinking, but he did so as a true show-master. It was a spectacle, and the audience could not control their excitement as was evident from their loud claps and cheers.

Towards the end, Friedrich took some audience questions and concluded the evening with a lovely message — “The best thing about magic is the magic.”
