Indian low-cost airline GoAir announced that it will be open for booking from April 15 for domestic flights, and May 1 for international flights, a spokesperson of the airline said.
“GoAir is open for bookings from 15th April 2020 for its domestic flights, and the airline is open for bookings for international flights from 1st May 2020,” GoAir spokesperson said.
On March 24 India had suspended all incoming and outgoing flights, in a bid to #flattenthecurve in the face of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Later on March 27, the suspension was extended up to April 14.
Although GoAir’s latest announcement has brought a glimmer of hope to some, the centre is yet to announce the status of resuming of flights post the ongoing 21-day lockdown period in the country.

On April 2, Minister of Civil Aviation of India, Hardeep Singh Puri had tweeted, “The current lockdown on both domestic and international passenger flights is till April 15. A decision to restart the flights after this period remains to be taken. If required, we will have to assess the situation on a case by case basis.”
Domestic carriers including SpiceJet and Indigo is also showing open ticket bookings on their respective websites starting April 15. But with a general fear in the air, it is unclear if travellers would be ready to travel as the world continues to curb the pandemic.
