In what could be considered as a major sigh of relief for India, amid the rising cases of the deadly coronavirus, 25 districts across 15 states have not reported any new cases of the pandemic in the past 14 days. The same was recently confirmed by the Union Health Ministry during a media briefing on COVID-19. 

Implementation of the action plan is already yielding good results in 25 districts across 15 States; no case reported since last 14 days: @MoHFW_INDIA media briefing on #COVID19 #IndiaFightsCorona,” the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said in a tweet. 

The ministry further assured that the government is equipped with enough stocks to conduct tests for at least six weeks, and in fact, 2,00,000 samples have already been tested. It also said that along with rapid and economical diagnostics, the Core Strategy Group on COVID-19 is working on new drugs as well.

The districts that have shown this improvement include, Gondia (Maharashtra), Raj Nand Gaon (Chhattisgarh), Davangiri (Karnataka), South Goa, Wayanad and Kottayam (Kerala), West Imphal (Manipur), Rajouri (J&K), Aizawl West (Mizoram), Mahe in Puducherry, SBS Nagar in Punjab, Patna, Nalanda and Munger in Bihar, Pratapgarh in Rajasthan, Panipat, Rohtak and Sirsa in Haryana, Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand, and Bhadradari Kothagudem in Telangana.

The Indian Council Of Medical Research (ICMR) also confirmed conducting 2,06,212 coronavirus tests so far.
