Rishihood University of Sonipat in Haryana has announced a ‘Tech4Heritage Hackathon’, where it will give participants a chance to come up with solutions for the preservation of Indian heritage sites. The hackathon which is scheduled to be held on September 27, comes with a winning prize of INR 50,000, INR 25,000, and INR 10,000, for first, second and third positions, respectively.
“Culture is a living phenomenon that survives through our Heritage – which is not in a sound condition, with many of them on the verge of extinction. We need to step up and act before it’s too late. We believe we can rejuvenate our Heritage Sites with the help of emerging technologies like Deep Learning, AI, Machine Learning and cutting-edge Image Processing,” Rishihood University mentioned on its official website.

In this phase, participants will build a preliminary solution. Phase 2, on the other hand, will go on for 15 days, from September 29 to October 13, and in this, the participants will work towards enhancing and optimising the solution, which will form the stepping stones for the preservation of India’s heritage sites.
It also said that although the competition is open to all, the nature of the challenge requires experience or knowledge in domains such as Deep learning, Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing.
