The Ministry of External Affairs has recently announced a list of 16 countries that have offered to invite Indian passport holders without a visa. By Kumar Shree
As per a recent revelation by the Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, in a written response to a question raised in Rajya Sabha, Indian passport holders can now enter 16 countries, visa-free. These countries include Barbados, Nepal, Bhutan, Mauritius, Haiti, Hong Kong SAR, the Maldives, Senegal, Serbia, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Dominica, Samoa, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Niue Island and Montserrat.

As of now, there are 43 countries that allow Indian passport holders to avail visa-on-arrival facility, such as, Indonesia, Myanmar, Iran, etc., and 36 countries that offer e-visa facility, such as, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, etc.
Some of the countries that have now offered visa-free entry for Indian passport holders are also among the top travel destinations; so, you can easily plan your much-awaited trip to your favourite tourist spot once #CoronaBeGone.

Muraleedharan, in his response in the Upper House, also said that the government is making constant efforts to further increase the number of countries that allow visa-free travel, offer visa-on-arrival service, or extend e-visa facility for those with a valid Indian passport.
As per various media reports, the minister further added that, while the issuance of a visa and the visa-related process is the sovereign and unilateral decision of the respective country, the matter regarding easier and liberalised visa policy for Indian nationals is taken up regularly in bilateral meetings and forums with foreign countries.
