The trick lies in finding destinations, which will make it easy for both, you as a newbie parent and your infant to adjust and acclimatise. Nothing drastic or too adventurous, but pleasing enough to set you off on a (hopefully) lifelong journey of travelling with your kids.
1. Dublin, Ireland
If you have visited Dublin before, we hope you noticed how they have many pedestrian-only roads as well as wide footpaths. Why we say that is because these make travelling around with a stroller easy. There are many parks that you can explore, zoos (if your child is past the newborn stage), and children museums, which are equally intriguing. Besides, Dublin is fuss-free, relaxed, and has a safe environment, perfect for family travels with an infant.
2. Tokyo, Japan
Asia can be overwhelming even for adults but Japan is just perfect for travelling with an infant travel partner. With baby cafes throughout the city, family rooms in most hotels to nurse your baby, and easy-to-get baby supplies in every pharmacy, Tokyo surely welcomes families with arms wide open. Consider choosing Airbnbs over a hotel room and inform the owner that you’re travelling with an infant. Besides, Tokyo is squeaky clean and its urban streets and Zen gardens are both as fascinating as it gets.
3. Bali, Indonesia
Over the years, Bali has warmed up to its tourists in a way that has been humbling to notice. So, it is no surprise that another destination in Asia where you can visit with your small one is Bali — the land of verdant forests, sprawling rice paddies, cascading waterfalls, and pristine beaches. What makes it better are its baby-friendly hotels, which have baby cots and even arrange for baby seats in the car on prior notice for an airport pick-up. Nannies can be found throughout, and even baby gear is available on rent. Canggu, Ubud, Legian, and Jimbaran are the more family and kid-friendly destinations.
4. Sweden, Stockholm
Hands down, one of the best and nicest people you will find, people of Sweden are known for being hospitable, welcoming, and accepting. That also extends when it comes to travelling with your infant travel partner. Not only is the place amazing to live and work in for adults, but for people travelling with their babies as well, Sweden also has kid-centric activities that’ll bring you and your infant closer. The city is clean, one of the safest in the world, and has family-friendly hotels and Airbnbs situated all over.
5. Amsterdam, Netherlands
When travelling with a baby, you have to make sure there’s enough space on the streets for you to walk it out with a stroller. And, when it comes to European destinations, few get better than Amsterdam, a walker’s absolute paradise. Parks, boat rides, museums, and the help of a baby carrier to wander the canals-with a little research, you’ll be all set for your family vacay to Amsterdam. If your kid is slightly grown up, they’ll have a great time in one the city’s many parks, and the NEMO Museum. Moreover, the Dutch are very friendly and helpful people. So, if you need it, don’t hesitate to ask for help for making the travel easier for your baby.
