The DGCA made this announcement right after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) released a fresh set of guidelines for Unlock 5.0, where it mentioned, that it would not permit international air travel of passengers in the current phase, except those that have been given a special permit by the Home Ministry. However, all flights under the travel bubble scheme will continue to function.
Prasar Bharti News Services in its tweet wrote, “@DGCAIndia has issued a circular stating that International scheduled commercial passenger flights from India to remain suspended until Oct 31. International cargo flights and passenger flights approved by Indian govt to continue.”
India already has travel bubble arrangements in place with countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Canada, Iraq, Japan, Maldives, Nigeria, Qatar, and the UAE, and has recently established the same with Bhutan and Kenya as well.
