Hold your (dark) horses, Mumbai! We’ve got some news for you! Grammy-nominated American singer Katy Perry recently announced that she will be performing in the maximum city later this year in November. Headlining the inaugural OnePlus Music Festival, this will be the singer’s first performance in Mumbai. The event will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the same venue which hosted Justin Bieber’s India debut in May 2017.

According to the OnePlus Music Festival’s flagship website, the festival is being described as the “merger of the wonder of music and the power of technology”. If rumors are to be believed, then English singer and songwriter Dua Lipa will be accompanying the ‘Fireworks’ singer on stage.

Although the actual line up has not been finalised yet, it is confirmed the show will be held on November 16. The tickets, however, have not been rolled out as of now. But fret not! You can register for the event on Insider’s event page by signing up. This will guarantee early access to ticket purchase, giving you a heads-up as soon as the ticket window opens.

This is not time Katy Perry will be performing in India though. The popstar behind hits such as I kissed a girl and Hot N Cold earlier performed in Chennai at the Indian Premiere League (IPL) opening ceremony in 2012. She was also in India in 2010, when she married ex-husband Russel Brand at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort in Ranthambore.

Speaking about the event, Katy Perry took to Instagram to make an official announcement. She says, “I am so happy to be returning to India and excited to headline my first-ever performance in Mumbai. I am looking forward to seeing and singing with all of my Indian KatyCats at the OnePlus Music Festival.” We’re super excited too!
