Joining the fight against COVID-19, Le Meridien New Delhi has come forward to lend support in distributing food to the needy. By Tanvi Jain
Le Meridien New Delhi has been supporting Confederation of Indian Industry’s Young Indians (CII-YI) initiative to deliver rations to over 6,500 people living in slums and underprivileged homes. Moreover, it has also been supporting CII Delhi State Council’s effort to deliver food packets to the daily wagers, who are currently unemployed. So far over 2,000 meals have already been distributed.
Furthermore, the hotel has managed to distribute 1,000 housekeeping kits including — towels, pillows, sheets, soaps and cotton masks stitched by its team — to shelter homes through Gautam Gambhir Foundation. “Coming together of everyone in time of need is a true reflection of INDIA! We are making sure those in shelter homes have clean sheets, pillows, towels & masks I really appreciate Le Meridien & GM Ms Meena Bhatia’s generous contribution towards this cause!” Former cricketer and MP tweeted.
The hotel has also delivered dry rations to Gautampuri slums, and for the students of its Corporate social responsibility (CSR) partner Joining Hands, via whom it has successfully managed to deliver sleeping kits and toilet kits to charitable hospital. The hotel has also supported Delhi based NGO Pins & Needles, in making masks in order to raise funds.

In another initiative for the wellbeing of its customers, the hotel has been conducting online cooking sessions, where its chefs share ideas and culinary expertise in an attempt to help people stay positive in tough times like these. For example — Mousse au Chocolat by Chef Vivek Chauhan, bakery hacks, Mexican delicacies, cooking lessons by Chef Davinder Kumar, and etc. On the hotel’s Twitter handle you will also find a zoom web link for every session.
