He may have proved himself worthy in India’s political drama, but can he survive true wilderness? Prime Minister Narendra Modi took up a wild challenge with Man v/s Wild outdoor survival expert Bear Grylls to put his skill to test! By Bayar Jain
Adventurer Bear Grylls is known for travelling the world to challenge his survival skills. However, with a recent twitter announcement, he’s added another feather to his cap. Coming August 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be seen battling it out against nature on the show Man v/s Wild. In this special episode on Discovery Channel, Grylls can be seen taking the Prime Minister through the Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand. A statement issued by the channel also claims that it will be a “frank and freewheeling journey.”
In an attempt to create awareness about animal conservation, a clip released by Grylls on his social media accounts shows our PM riding a small dinghy in a river along with the adventure travel show host. He can even be seen sniffing what appears to be elephant dung and hacking together a spear-like tool.
“For me, this show is a great opportunity to showcase to the world India’s rich environmental heritage and stress on the importance of environment conservation and living in harmony with nature,” the Prime Minister said in a statement. He further added that “it was a great experience spending time in the jungle once again, this time with Bear, who is blessed with indefatigable energy and quest to experience nature at its purest.”
Earlier in 2015, former US president Barack Obama was also seen on the show. Airing on August 12 across 180 countries, PM Modi is set to become the first Indian politician to appear on the show.
