It seems like India has got its own Bansky, an anonymous England based artist who uses his graffiti and paintings as a way of questioning authorities and sending sublime messages. Now, Mumbai’s own Banksy who goes by the name of Tyler has been gaining popularity for creating anti-fascist themes and anti-authoritarian messaging with his artwork all over Mumbai‘s old buildings.

Recently, the artist made headlines when he announced on his Instagram page that he will be creating a ‘Walk of Shame’ wall on Independence Day. The artist will be painting a wall that stretches over 500 metres on a street in Mumbai featuring the names of “most shameless figures across industries like Journalism, Politics, Bollywood, etc.” He added that the names for the same will be selected by the people through an online voting process where they can leave the names they think deserve to be on the list.

“These public figures were well-liked and celebrated for their work. We have looked up to them, supported them, and even believed in them to do the right thing. However, they have become mouthpieces for political parties and have been instrumental in spreading propaganda that causes widespread destruction, violence and stupidity,” read another part of the artist’s post.

The artist will feature 25 of the most repeated names in the comments and is even going a step further by deciding to make a template that will be available to the public to use in their own states and cities to call out local authorities.

“This exercise is purely to get people to come together and call out these people on an open platform by physically painting their names on a street. I am hoping this becomes like the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. That is how I see it,” added Tyler who said he is doing this purely in the interest of the people.
