The pre-recorded productions are released weekly on the official YouTube channel of the theatre. The schedule for the next month is a treat for theatre, history, and literature fans around the world. The lineup starts with a critically acclaimed and sold-out show Barber Shop Chronicles on May 14. It comes followed by A Streetcar Named Desire on May 21, This House on May 28, and Coriolanus starring Tom Hiddleston on June 4.

The shows premiere every Thursday at 7 pm UK time, and each one will remain on YouTube for one week for free in case you miss it.

The initiative was launched as a voluntary fundraising campaign to help the iconic theatre support its actors and staff through the closure period. Even as lockdown restrictions in the UK have been slowly eased, there is still a blanket ban on leisure gatherings. The theatre also had to cancel its world tours for the time being.
