Culinary superstar and goddess of all things sweet, Nigella Lawson is finally coming to India and we’re super excited! Here is everything you need to know about her debut visit. By Bayar Jain
Hailed as the world’s greatest home cook, Nigella Lawson will be making her debut visit to India, all thanks to the lovely folks at American Express. The World Series presented by American Express, a set of signature events, which celebrates talent from various fields, is gearing up for their second edition.
Last year welcomed World’s Number one chef, Daniel Humm curating and headlining the event. This year’s edition presented by American Express in partnership with BMW Excellence Club, Rose, Rose the Watch Bar, Etihad Airways, The Chambers at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai and The Roseate, New Delhi promises to be nothing short of magnificent. Set to take place on September 14 and September 15 in Mumbai and New Delhi respectively, Lawson will be hosting a quintessential London-themed bespoke culinary experience featuring her signature menu. But that’s not all! To enhance the uniqueness of Nigella’s Art, Brancott Estate will bring its own fresh perspective from Marlborough, New Zealand, with its Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, while Jacob’s Creek Classic and Sparkling will bring its generous notes from Barossa, Australia.
Speaking about this special event, Sapna M Vats, Director – Luxury Marketing and Special Events at Evolve says, “After bringing celebrated chefs such as Daniel Humm and Heston Blumenthal to India, we are thrilled to be curating the second prestigious edition of The World Series presented by American Express India – featuring Nigella Lawson. Nigella’s mystique as a culinary goddess was so expansive and compelling that it was only natural for us to bring her to India and have her put together an exquisite meal. What’s even more special is that Nigella doesn’t own a restaurant, so the only way to know how incredible her food tastes is through this experience, which promises to be nothing short of splendid.”
The lack of a restaurant is not a stumbling block for this accomplished chef. She has twelve cook-books in her name, out of which her first book titled How to Eat is a ground-breaking best seller.
Manoj Adlakha, Senior Vice President & CEO, American Express Banking Corp., India, says, “At American Express, we are passionate about enabling memorable experiences for our Card members. Our Card members are discerning gourmands, and our partnership with World Series has provided them access to new and exciting culinary events. In continuation, we are thrilled to bring Nigella Lawson to the country for the first time ever!
