Exploring Ooty, the gorgeous hill station nestled in the depths of Tamil Nadu will now be even more attractive to explore because the eco-tourism startup B: Live has introduced eco-friendly electric bikes in the town. By Kumar Shree
You can now pedal your way through Ooty and explore the beautiful town on wheels and be absolutely guilt-free about contributing to the rising carbon and pollution levels. B: Live, an eco-tourism startup that offers experiential guided tours in multiple cities in states like Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu has now introduced its services in Ooty as well. Of course, we don’t need to mention the health benefits of cycling and the liberty of being able to explore the quaint town at your own leisurely pace.

The unique and environment-conscious way of exploring Ooty that contributes nearly zero carbon footprint is running in partnership with ‘Make Ooty Beautiful’, which is a green movement initiative. These bikes offered by the electric bike startup, B:Live can take you around for up to 50 km on a single recharge. That’s not even the best part about it. These bikes come with an accelerator and pedal-assist mode as well. Now, what does that mean? It means that you can still use the bike to commute even after the battery is completely drained out. These bikes also come with a digital display to keep you posted about the battery status and other important details about the bike.
Convenor of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage Geetha Srinivasan said, “Millions of tourists visit Ooty each year and tourist vehicles are one of the top contributors to the rising level of air pollution.” This clean mode of exploring Ooty will surely be a hit among biking enthusiasts and environment crusaders as well. “The guided e-bike tours from B:Live offer a clean mode of exploring and experiencing the beauty of Ooty”, she said.
