While the country tries to escape from the clutches of the coronavirus pandemic, some lands have emerged victorious from the battle. After Goa and Manipur, the Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) and Kargil in Ladakh UT are reportedly the next ones to be COVID-19 free. Moreover, as per reports, the Uttar Pradesh government has also declared 10 districts across the state as virus-free.

As per reports, there were three positive patients in Pulwama – one each from Khaigam, Chandgam, and Sangervani villages. Reports further suggest that once these three patients were tested and declared positive, seven of the adjoining villages were declared as buffer zones as well. Reportedly, those in the Red zone areas were screened thrice, and no positive cases were recorded in the district in the last three weeks. The three positive patients in the region, too, have reportedly recovered. As a whole, Ladakh reportedly has 20 cases as of April 27.

Similar reports have been made from Kargil district as well, where the only four reported coronavirus patients have recovered, and subsequently discharged. As per reports, however, Jammu and Kashmir have crossed the 500-mark as of April 27, with six deaths reported.

Uttar Pradesh, a densely populated state with one of the highest number of coronavirus cases so far, has also reportedly announced 10 districts free of the virus. As per reports, some of the COVID-19 free districts are Hathras, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Prayagraj, Kheri, Barabanki, Hardoi, Kaushambi and more. On the flip side, places such as Varanasi, Bulandshahar, Kanpur, Lucknow, Basti, Firozabad and Aligarh are reportedly under the vigilance of the police and state government authorities. As of April 27, the state has reported 1868 positive cases with 29 recorded deaths.

Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh, too, have reportedly combated the virus successfully with no new cases reported in both the states. While Arunachal Pradesh becomes a coronavirus-free state after the lone patient was discharged from the hospital, Tripura’s two patients have also reportedly recovered.

As of April 27, a Health Ministry statement has reportedly said that 283 districts in the country have not reported any new case of coronavirus. Moreover, reports suggest that 64 districts have not reported any new case in the last seven days, 48 districts have not reported a fresh case in the last 14 days, 33 districts have not reported a fresh case in the last 21 days and 18 districts have not reported any new case in the last 28 days.

Earlier, Goa and Manipur reported being completely devoid of the virus with all infected patients completely recovered.
