Discover much-needed respite from the daily grind and a variety of effective treatments at The LaLiT New Delhi’s Rejuve – The Spa. By Parvati Mohanakrishnan
The rain comes down on me exactly like everything else has since I’ve woken up this morning. First the electricity, then the traffic, then the minor fiasco at work, and now the rain! Well, what does one do on a day like this? Grit your teeth and trudge on I guess. But I choose a massage!
So here I am at The LaLiT New Delhi, looking forward to an evening of R&R. The hotel has long been my favourite; it houses the first night club I ever went to, serves one of the best buffets I’ve eaten, and has a lovely air of acceptance and warmth that is rare to find elsewhere. I enter the familiar lobby and make my way up to Rejuve – The Spa.
A soothing fragrance finds its way to me as I open the glass doors to the spa. Accompanied by the warm smiles all around, the fragrance does wonders for my stretched mind. My shoulders ache with stress and could do with a good kneading. But nothing works better than a good scrub. So I decide to get both and set off enthusiastically towards the wet areas with Elistina, my therapist for the day.
After a quick steam and shower, I go to my room. The four rooms at the spa are compact but fragrant and done up in soothing colours. I’m eager for the niceties to end and the scrub to begin, so I hurry Elistina through the welcome ritual, disrobe, and lie down on the massage table with a sigh.
I’m too tired to sleep, I realise as Elistina rubs my legs down at the start of the Restorative Salt Scrub. The rough grains grind against my skin, breathing life into it by improving circulation. A warm shower after reveals hydrated and deply exfoliated skin that feels soft to the touch.
I choose my favourite deep-tissue massage to follow the scrub. Elistina knows exactly what to do! She stretches, massages, and kneads all my stress away with her magic hands. So much so that I finally doze off during the last minutes of the massage.
As I emerge from the spa, I see the rain hasn’t stopped. But now I can enjoy its steady patter and the pleasant weather its brought with it, thanks to the rejuvenating evening I’ve had at Rejuve – The Spa.
If you have sensitive skin, but still enjoy a body scrub, try the Tamarind & Cane Sugar Molasses scrub. It’s gentle on the skin, yet an effective exfoliant that leaves your skin fresh and hydrated.
