Vistara has started an initiative called #PadsOnBoard, which will start from International Women’s Day 2019 on March 8th, 2019. Under this initiative, women travellers on board can ask for sanitary napkins when required. They will get the sanitary napkin on request and that too without any cost.
The airlines in a statement said, “This initiative makes Vistara the first Indian airline to offer sanitary pads on flights within India.” Vistara took to their twitter handle for declaring the same.
The tweet said, “This #InternationalWomensDay, Vistara is proud to be India’s first airline to provide sanitary pads aboard all domestic flights, starting 8th Mar ’19. These pads are organic & bio-degradable. #PadsOnBoard #VistaraForWomen #VistaraWomanFlyer #WomensDay #NotJustAnotherAirline.”
Starting today, the cabin crew will announce the availability of sanitary napkins on board. The statement by airlines also stated, “The airline will provide ISO 9001:2015 certified, bio-degradable and organic sanitary napkins made from plant-based fibres that are free of plastic, toxins and perfume.”
Reflecting their view on the initiative, Senior Vice President—HR & Corporate Affairs, Deepa Chadha mentioned, “The initiative to provide sanitary pads to our customers is a meaningful one that reflects our core philosophy that ‘small things make a big difference’. As a woman, I feel a greater sense of pride for being part of an organisation that’s providing such an essential amenity to customers – something that will help so many travellers in times of need.”
Vistara also started a service called the #VistaraWomenFlyer in 2017 in order to ensure special benefits and hassle-free rides to its women flyers. Both #VistaraWomenFlyer and the new #PadsOnBoard initiative falls under the ‘Vistara for Women’ services umbrella. Vistara has been a leader in ensuring great flying experiences for all its flyers and especially women, and they deserve all the praise for that.
