Since the world has come to a temporary halt due to the Coronavirus outbreak, travel remains prohibited in most parts of the world as of now. Sadly, the Stonehenge summer solstice celebration has fallen during this time, and unlike past years, it won’t be possible to travel and witness the same. That’s where the magic and effectiveness of the internet comes to play. So basically, what we are saying is that, this year, even if you can’t travel to witness this marvel, don’t fret. You can watch this virtually from your couch!

Stonehenge director Nichola Tasker conveyed through an official statement, “We have consulted widely on whether we could have proceeded safely and we would have dearly liked to host the event as per usual, but sadly, in the end, we feel we have no choice but to cancel.”

He revealed that the organisation will host a live stream of the celebration so that people across the globe can still be a part of it and feel the festivity entering their homes.

“We hope that our [livestream] offers an alternative opportunity for people near and far to connect with this spiritual place at such a special time of year and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year,” he added.
