As per a recent survey conducted by Preferred Hotels & Resorts, travellers are willing to pack their bags and leave as soon as the lockdown is lifted. By Tanvi Jain

Numbers on the global survey conducted by Preferred Hotels & Resorts suggest that while 54 per cent of the travellers will book their trip for 2020 once the restrictions are over, 17 per cent have already started booking for future.
As far as the preferred regions are concerned, North America has topped the list with 44 per cent of the travellers willing to visit the place post the COVID-19 lockdown. While 30 per cent prefer Europe, 11 per cent would like to explore the Asia Pacific. The survey also says that while 43 per cent hope to travel internationally to a different continent, 22 per cent would though travel internationally, but within their home continent itself.
According to the data, most travellers’ favourite destinations that have made it to the top 10 list include Florida, Italy, United Kingdom, California, France, Hawaii, New York, Spain, Japan and Mexico.

Moving on to the choice of stay, as per the survey, 51 per cent plan to book a city hotel and 30 per cent is up for a beach resort. The choice of travel suggests 81 per cent by plane and 75 per cent with family.
Budget wise, while 32 per cent are ready to spend USD 150 to USD 249 per night on lodging, 32 per cent more would even increase it to USD 250 to USD 499 per night.

The survey results are based on answers given by 3,695 members of I Prefer Hotel Rewards from April 6 to April 13, with 56 per cent across the United States, 14 per cent across Europe, 11 per cent Canada, nine per cent Asia Pacific, and 10 per cent across all other regions.
