In an attempt to provide travellers an experience they are being deprived of these days due to lockdown amid COVID-19 outbreak, Taiwan’s Taipei Songshan Airport is giving 90 travellers a chance to relive their flying days by allowing them to go through the immigration, boarding and disembarking the plane.
“Can’t leave (Taiwan), then pretend to go abroad at Songshan,” the airport’s official website was reported by the CNN as saying, further adding that there will be three tours of the Songshang Airport, which will take place on July 2, 4 and 7, respectively.
“People who didn’t have the opportunity to take international flights at Songshan (can) use this chance to experience and learn more about boarding process and relevant service facilities,” Chih-ching Wang, Deputy Director, Taipei Songshan Airport, told CNN, adding that the participants will not only get a chance to experience airport’s new facilities for the first time, but will also be given exclusive surprise gifts.

Moreover, they will also be allowed to purchase from the airport’s duty–free chain, eat at its new restaurant, and learn about the airlines’ new COVID-19 safety measures while on-board. As per an airport official, flight attendants will get the participants seated, give them standard safety instructions, demonstrate on how to sanitise their cabins and will also promote the airlines’ business class service.
Reports further suggest that out of the 90 participants, 30 will be allowed to tour each day of the three days scheduled for the experience. Every participant will be allowed to bring along one guest each, which means 60 people will enjoy the experience each day.
